Fats, oils and grease in wastewater systems cause a range of problems including: excess BOD/COD contributions, clogging and fouling, foaming and floc floatation aswell as promoting the growth of filamentous bacteria.
Evogen GDL has been formulated to address the limitations of wastewater systems in dealing with fats, oils and grease. The unique blend of readily biodegradable surfactants combined with FOG degrading microorganisms offers a versatile solution to mitigate issues related to FOG. From dosing into sewer lines to wet wells and lift stations, the technology offers the wastewater operator a technology for controlling FOG across a range of scenarios.
The product works via a two-pronged approach, first a low concentration of a surfactant make FOG deposits more bioavailable, next the specifically selected Bacillus microbes fully degrade the FOG to CO2 and water. It is this combination that prevents FOG from simply traveling further downstream and forming hard scale as commonly found with enzymatic, chemical and poorly designed biological treatments.
