We’re delighted to share the news that Genesis Biosciences has made the shortlist in two categories at the Cardiff Business Awards 2019.
Genesis Biosciences is in the running for Green Business of the Year, as well as Innovation Business of the Year.
We scooped the award for Technology and Innovation Business of the Year category back in 2015. But we hope to go one better this time around and bring both awards back to our laboratories in Wentloog, Cardiff.
Our shortlisting at the Cardiff Business Awards builds on a successful prize period for us here at Genesis Biosciences. We made the shortlist for the Tomorrow’s Cleaning Awards in February, before going one better the following month. At the CSSA Awards 2019 in March we collected the prize for Contract Innovation.
Green Business of the Year at Cardiff Business Awards
As Cardiff Business Awards puts it, “This award recognises those businesses for whom sustainability is at the core of their activities or whose products, processes or practices have resulted in significant environmental improvement.”
This very much aligns with our eco-benign® ethos. We utilise the power of nature for environmentally responsible cleaning solutions. For example our probiotic cleaning range Evogen Professional uses the positive properties of good bacteria for a wide range of commercial and domestic cleaning applications. By using probiotic cleaners, customers can stop using harsh chemicals such as bleach that can damage the environment.
Innovation Business of the Year at Cardiff Business Awards
“Recognising those businesses that have achieved growth through innovation driven entrepreneurship,” is how this award is described.
As a biosciences company we conduct extensive research into application-specific bacteria. From this we create a wide range of products for various markets from wastewater treatment to domestic cleaning. Ongoing reinvestment in R&D ensures Genesis Biosciences remains at the forefront of the industry.
Our goal is to revolutionise how we clean in the 21st century because it needs to change. And innovation is at the heart of what we do as well as how we are going to do it.

This year’s ceremony will take place at Cardiff City Hall on Friday 21st June 2019 and celebrates the best business in the city. Finally, we’d like to wish the best of luck to all our fellow nominees.
