We are thrilled to announce that Genesis Biosciences has been shortlisted in the Wales STEM Awards 2023!
The Wales STEM Awards is back for the third time to shine a light on the organisations and individuals raising the profile of STEM in Wales and we’re pleased to share that we have been selected as one of the 55 companies and individuals included in the 2023 Wales STEM Awards shortlist, which is sponsored by Cardiff Metropolitan University. The awards will once again celebrate those leading the sector in Wales, including those creating an impact on the Welsh economy, those addressing the STEM diversity gap and skills shortage, and those inspiring and raising aspirations of the next generation.
We’re shortlisted in the STEM Sustainability Award category, which aims to recognise businesses with sustainability hardwired at the core of their activities and environmental initiatives that have resulted in significant environmental improvement. The judges are specifically looking for businesses that have developed an environmental initiative and have built sustainability into the strategic operations of the business.
Sustainability lies at the heart of Genesis; we adhere to an eco-benign® philosophy, striving to minimise our impact on the environment and continuously improve by working harmoniously with nature rather than against it.
Our eco-benign® technologies employ beneficial microorganisms and nature-derived actives as alternatives to harsh chemicals used in various industries. Rigorous scientific verification and validation support all our product claims, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards and certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000. Our dedication to sustainability extends beyond product development and research; it permeates throughout our day-to-day operations, leading to the successful offsetting of 100% of our carbon emissions in 2021.
We’re proud to have been recognised in this year’s highly anticipated awards thanks to its commitment to making a difference in Wales’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) agenda. On this, Dr Emma Saunders says:

All finalists from across the 13 categories will now be considered by an industry-leading panel of judges, with the winners being announced at the awards ceremony at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on 13th October.
