Genesis Biosciences proudly announces an exciting partnership with Unilever and the receipt of the Clean Future Partner Award.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the global powerhouse of consumer products – Unilever, to help transform the cleaning industry through groundbreaking product and technological innovation. This partnership represents a significant step forward in creating a cleaner future and reducing the environmental impact of the industry.

Unilever is a multinational corporation that has been making an impact in the world since 1833 when Sunlight Soap was launched in the UK by its founder. Today Unilever has over 400 brands available in 190 countries with an impressive €60 billion turnover in 2022.  

In addition to its commercial successes, Unilever uses its large scale to make a positive impact on the world. Unilever has helped to improve the livelihoods of millions of people through its sustainable living initiatives, which include commitments to reduce the company’s environmental impact and support diverse businesses owned by under-represented groups.

In an article published in late 2022, Jonathan Hague, Head of Clean Future, Science and Technology for Unilever’s Home Care Business, explained how chemical innovation both can drive superior cleaning products and at the same time reduce their carbon footprint. In the article, he states, “Science is not only being applied in the service of millions of people around the world, it also has the ability to make a difference to climate change.”

This same thinking lies at the heart of Genesis Biosciences, which is why we operate within an eco-benign® philosophy, ensuring we continuously improve or make minimum impact on the environment by working with nature rather than against it. Our eco-benign® technologies make use of beneficial microorganisms and nature-derived actives to replace the harsh chemicals used across many different industries. We also work tirelessly to scientifically verify and validate all our products, ensuring all product claims are backed up by data and our products are manufactured to the highest industry standards and accreditations such as the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and FSSC 22000 certifications. Our approach to sustainability and environmental consciousness doesn’t stop with our products and research and development initiatives, it also flows throughout our day-to-day operational practices which resulted in us offsetting 100% of our carbon emissions in 2021.

At the recent American Cleaning Institute (ACI) event in Orlando, our CEO Conrad Mielcuszny had the opportunity to meet with the Unilever Home Care leadership team where they shared more about the progress made against the company’s CleanFuture ambition and praised the innovative solutions delivering superior, sustainable, and affordable products. They also had the opportunity to share more about the Partner with Purpose program, which we are proudly part of. The program fosters collaboration and drives innovative solutions to the cleaning industry, all partners received equal recognition for the work assembled to bring Unilever’s Homecare strategy to life.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Clean Future Partner Awards, which celebrated all of Unilever’s amazing partners that have gone above and beyond to transform the cleaning industry. We were honoured to have been one of the recipients of this prestigious award, recognising our pledge to delivering sustainable, innovative and effective solutions that make a real difference to the environment and the people who use our products.
