Say hi to Sasha and Lawrence, who recently joined Genesis Biosciences at our UK facility.
The last months have kept us very busy with new developments, some exciting partnerships and welcoming new members to our team – Sasha and Lawrence have been with us since March and both share mutual feelings of excitement for their roles and being a part of Genesis Biosciences.
Sasha joins Genesis as a QC Laboratory Technician and Lawrence as a B2B Sales Executive for UK and Ireland. We sat down with them to learn more about their roles and what they enjoy doing outside of work – take it away, both!
Meet Sasha, QC Laboratory Technician
What does your role involve as a QC Laboratory Technician?
As a QC Laboratory Technician, I meticulously analyse and examine samples of our products to ensure they meet our quality standards. I also perform essential lab duties such as calibrating and maintaining equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. Additionally, I prepare samples for customers with care and attention to detail, ensuring that they receive only the highest quality products.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
The fast-paced environment! Every day looks different from the one before, bringing new challenges and opportunities for growth.
What are you most excited about doing here?
I’m excited to develop in my current role further, helping the company develop new ideas and products, as well as learning more about microbiology.
Do you have any hobbies or weekend activities the team might not know about?
I enjoy long walks and hikes, and I have a camper van that I share with my closest friend. As we both love going on adventures and exploring different places we sometimes travel and sleep in the van on weekends. Apart from that, I value spending time with my family and friends. I’m also a huge lover of animals and have many pets, including four guinea pigs, two rabbits, a hamster, two cats, and a dog – it’s like living a dream!
Meet Lawrence, B2B Sales Executive
What does your role involve as a B2B Sales Executive?
I’m part of the day-to-day business and sales development by managing accounts across UK and Ireland, expanding relationships with our current customers and also finding new customers to develop new relationships and opportunities.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
I believe it’s evident that joining such a talented team at the forefront of an innovative industry, while also being a disruptor in that same industry by combining scientific research and commercial goals for the end-user, is a valuable opportunity. It’s a relaxing working environment and everyone has this shared commitment to advancing the company, it’s also very rewarding because you witness how your efforts contribute to a greater purpose, which aligns with the product development, marketing, and sales teams’ shared goals.
What are you most excited about doing here?
The opportunity to meet a wide array of interesting and exciting new customers as well as our existing ones all across different industries such as home care, retail, I&I, catering, and all the way to wastewater treatment – all doing fantastic things with our products.
Do you have any hobbies or weekend activities the team might not know about?
I quite like sports and play a bit of rugby when I can – injuries permitting! Like many people during the lockdown, I got into baking, started off with banana bread and now if I have a few hours, I’m partial to making focaccia.
